linux-ia64 fails to bootstrap on mainline

Perhaps a known issue, but I didn't see it reported
anywhere recently....suggestions on where to look, or
patches to test are welcome...

Using Debian unstable on ia64, the stage1 build fails with an
ICE:

stage1/xgcc -Bstage1/ -B/toolchain/ia64-linux/bin/ -c -g -O2
-DIN_GCC -W -Wall -Wwrite-strings -Wstrict-prototypes
-Wmissing-prototypes -pedantic -Wno-long-long -Wold-style-definition
-Werror -fno-common -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../../src/gcc/gcc
-I../../../src/gcc/gcc/. -I../../../src/gcc/gcc/../include
../../../src/gcc/gcc/c-decl.c -o c-decl.o
../../../src/gcc/gcc/c-decl.c: In function `xref_tag':
../../../src/gcc/gcc/c-decl.c:4737: internal compiler error:
Segmentation fault
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <URL:http://gcc.gnu.org/bugs.html> for instructions.
