Given that this patch apparently was not properly tested at all, and
that _everyone_ (except those not doing proper testing as well, which
includes far to many of us, I'm afraid!!):
If anyone goes ahead and reverts that patch, I'll take the responsibility
and potential flames for that -- but I really feel that this does not fall
under the regular "patch reversion" rules.
