I did a clean rebuild and:
/stuff/gcc.obj/gcc/gfortran -B/stuff/gcc.obj/gcc/ -B/stuff/gcc.install/i386-unknown-freebsd4.8/bin/ -B/stuff/gcc.install/i386-unknown-freebsd4.8/lib/ -isystem /stuff/gcc.install/i386-unknown-freebsd4.8/include -isystem /stuff/gcc.install/i386-unknown-freebsd4.8/sys-include -g -O2 -Wall -fno-repack-arrays -fno-underscoring -c ../../../gcc/libgfortran/generated/_abs_r4.f90 -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/_abs_r4.o
../../../gcc/libgfortran/generated/_abs_r4.f90:0: internal compiler error: Bus error
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.

This time I got Bus error instead of segfault, so the patch did change something
at least =)
