To summarize the obvious: SCO is widely used, but so is open source
software. SCO has told businesses around the world not to use open
source, claiming that open source solutions couldn't possibly compete
with proprietary ones, etc. SCO took this to the next step by threatening
law suits, and 'selling' the right to use GCC on Linux.
So far, most people have taken the high road, and have attempted to
merely monitor SCO's efforts, as opposed to reacting to it. They don't
seem to want to back down.
Would it be good to drop support for SCO? I dunno. I think it would teach
them a lesson, but it might cost in philosophical resolve.
