GCC Release Status (2003-06-27)

GCC 3.3.1
=========

GCC 3.3.1 is 21 days away.

There are 105 regressions targeted for GCC 3.3.1, compared with 122
last week.

Of these, 38 are C++ PRs (compared with 49 last week). That means
that C++ still accounts for a large portion of the open PRs. However,
it also looks like the C++ PRs are getting fixed more quickly than
other PRs. There are a fair number of miscompilation reports on
popular platforms: for example, PR 8878 and PR 10877.

I've triaged some of the 3.3.1 PRs, but obviously we are going to have
to do more if we're going to stay close to the target date; at 17 PRs
per week, we'd need 6 weeks to deal with all the regressions.

I still ythink the 3.3.1 release is in relatively good shape. Many of
the PRs are regressions relate to warnings, ICEs on invalid code, and
other not-too-critical areas.

GCC 3.4
=======

GCC 3.4 Stage 2 starts in 7 days.

There are 272 PRs targeted for GCC 3.4 (up from 268 last week). Of
course, many of thse are the same as the 3.3.1 PRs mentioned above.
C++ again represents the biggest share of the PRs, with 107 (up from
106).
