This will cause people to get password mail if this is their first bug submission, so maybe something should be on the news page or (sent to gcc-announce) or something so it's not a complete surprise and cause for mass hysteria.
Yes, gcc-announce seems a good place to publish that (and later also on the main page).
Would you mind crafting a draft of what we could send to gcc-announce?
Works for me.
Assuming no problems, at the middle of next week (wednesday), i'll do the final gnats conversion, and we'll cut the gnats processing out of the mail aliases. At this point, i'll update the user-facing web pages to say Bugzilla rather than GNATS everywhere, and the reporting instructions.
This sounds like a good plan, and (in case it's needed) I'll be available
all of next week up to Friday afternoon (morning you time) for web pages
Apache config, and in the worst case (though Chris is king there) root
issues on gcc.gnu.org.
So, perhaps switching on Tuesday might be preferrable (though Chris is probably more important to have available than me)?
