IIRC, from the announcements page of subversions a couple of days ago:
A P2P client (mldonkey), hosted on subversions, has it's default
configuration pointing to subversion to get the list of servers. The
client appears to (try to) download that file quite often, and since
there were thousands of downloads of the client itself, this is
causing an inadvertant DDoS on subversions.
I guess the last ditch effort to force people to upgrade their
mldonkey clients may have been to shut down subversions.
