C-compiler for electronics?

Sorry, but dunno has anyone else asked about this...

Could there be some sort of implementation of C-based hardware description language compiler for electronics designs, meaning languages like like StreamC, SystemC, OpenVera, Bach C, Handel C, SpecC, BDL, and so on?

Just wondering could there be single compiler (part of gcc4?) for all my project steps, as nowdays I need different compilers for most parts of design flow.

And yes, most of those languages are free sourced so gcc could at least implement most common functions of those compilers without worrying about law's stand point.

Thanks a bunch,
Arto Hytönen
