Yes, for many months. So it is not unreasonable to assume that
no such comments are forthcoming.

I maintain that complaining about %c is a bug. Always.
Please fix it, so that the number of programs with strange
ugly workarounds for this gcc bug need not increase.
No use confusing the issue by involving other cases.
