Most probable the source you have is not compatible with gcc 3.2.  But
no one can tell you, if you didn't provide the full error message.

Generally it is not recommended to replace a system compiler if you
didn't know exactly what you are doing.

Anyway, it is not necessary to rebuild glibc with the new compiler.
You only have to rebuild all C++ libraries you want to use with the
new compiler.  But note you have to keep an old version of those
libraries for the already compiled applications or rebuild all those
applications.
