bug accessing gawk

While running "gmake bootstrap"

checking for locale.h... yes
checking for float.h... yes
checking for inttypes.h... no
checking for gconv.h... no
checking for g++ that supports -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections... no

usage: gawk [-F fs] [-v var=val] [-W gawk-opts] -f progfile [--] file
...
       gawk [-F fs] [-v var=val] [-W gawk-opts] [--] 'program' file ...
checking for __builtin_abs declaration... yes
checking for __builtin_abs linkage... yes
checking for __builtin_fabsf declaration... yes

The gawk in use is apparently the native /bin/gawk in my OSF 4.0g
alpha. This is from the gcc-3.1 tarball. I have not patched anything.
The build is proceeding slowly, so I cannot tell if I have a working
gcc/g++ yet.

Randy Kunkee
