Successful build on Ultrix/VAX (3.0.4)

Not the most obvious thing to do, building a recent gcc on an antique VAX,
but nevertheless ...

Greetings, Bert.

*) vax-dec-ultrix4.3

*) Reading specs from /freeware/gnu-tools/vax/lib/gcc-lib/vax-dec-ultrix4.3/3.0.4/specs
   Configured with: ../gcc-3.0.4/configure --prefix=/freeware/gnu-tools
	--exec-prefix=/freeware/gnu-tools/vax --with-local-prefix=/freeware/gnu-tools
        --enable-version-specific-runtime-libs --enable-languages=c++,f77
        --with-gnu-as --with-gnu-ld
   Thread model: single
   gcc version 3.0.4

*) Bootstrapped from 2.95.3

There are several (small and not-so-small) problems during the build
(signbit.o problem; maximum command line lenght exceeded, broken /bin/sh).
You should also have plenty of patience ...

If you prefer a prebuilt binary and you trust me, you will find one at
RCSRI's Ultrix Archives (  The
appropriate binutils are also available there.
