At least the three oldest files in gcc2 cvs repo (from Jasons link) are:
typeclass.h: 1989/08/13 19:24:27; author: mycroft
README-fixinc: 1990/01/31 19:06:55; author: roland
c-parse.gperf: 1990/06/18 20:31:11; author: rms
At that time they probably were still RCS files local to each author, and
later "converted" into a CVS repository. It would be cool if some people
still had their versions of the emacs poor man revision control files of
gcc from an earlier date.
Ciao,
Michael.
