Having trouble configuring gcc

- Subject: Having trouble configuring gcc
I'm trying to install/configure gcc on our AIX 4.3.3 server, because we
don't currently have any C compiler. When I run the "configure" script, I
get the error message "You must set the environment variable CC to a working
compiler". If we had a working compiler, we wouldn't need to install gcc.
Is there any way around this, or am I doing something wrong? Thank you.
