[ast-optimizer-branch] Re-branching?

Subject: [ast-optimizer-branch] Re-branching?

CVS operations on the branch are becoming increasingly slow.
Maybe it would be a good time to re-branch.

Should I use the same branchpoint and branch tags or should I
create new ones?

Also, what happens to all the merge markers that have been
created so far?
