gcov gcc, then build gcc with -O1.  Count the number of characters in
the source files, and take n log n of that, and then display in red
any count in the gcov listing that is above that.  Then, track down
the loop that causes that number to be high, and find a way to
eliminate or limit that loop.  And pray it isn't GC.
