Is -fpmath=sse enabled in the 3.1 release?

I'm updating my benchmarks this evening, and tried using the new -fpmath=sse
option. It doesn't work; cc1plus complains that it is an unrecognized
option.
I built the compiler with:
../gcc-3.1/configure --fenable-threads
Now, everything says gcc was built for i686 Linux -- but maybe I missed
something that enabled SSE instructions.
So... any insights?
