Problem with today's snapshot

I have a program that miscompiles under heavy optimization using
gcc-2.95.3 on i686's, but seems to compile properly with the 3.1
CVS's, including today's. In the past, I simply would copy the
program to other similar machines and run it there. However,
compilining on one machine (and running successfully there) creates an
executible that now won't run on the other machines. I get:

./multistatemonte: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GCC_3.0' not found (required by ./multistatemonte)

ldd gives:

./multistatemonte: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GCC_3.0' not found (required by ./multistatemonte)
        libgsl.so.0 => /usr/local/lib/libgsl.so.0 (0x40028000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x4020d000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4022f000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

What's going on? I'm installing the CVS gcc on the machine in
question, but hope I don't have to do this on every machine I want to
run on.

David
