Problem bootstrapping gcc-3.1-20020510 on sparc-sun-solaris2.8

There appears to be a dependency problem for gnat1. The gmake bootstrap is
ok (with the long filenames and long-long patches in place) but gmake
gnatlib_and_tools fails with:

gcc -DIN_GCC `echo -g -W -Wall -Wwrite-strings -Wstrict-prototypes
-Wmissing-prototypes -Wtraditional |sed -e 's/-pedantic//g' -e
's/-Wtraditional//g'` -o ../gnat1 b_gnat1.o adaint.o cstreams.o cio.o

Is this a problem with my build environment? I found the missing symbol
defined in libgcc but I'm puzzled that no one else seems to have encountered
this one.
