I think Binutils 2.12 before your patch should just be ignored.  I can
update the 2.12 in the FreeBSD 5.0 tree.  FreeBSD soon-to-be-4.6 still
has 2.11.2.  I do not think the number of people trying to build GCC with
binutils 2.12.0 is large enough to worry about.
