VMS status

The manual contains some very old information about installing GCC on VMS
(in install-old.texi) and using GCC on VMS (in vms.texi). There have been
some mentions of GCC on VMS on the lists lately, as if it works or is
being made to work. Could the people working on VMS remove any parts of
this documentation that are no longer applicable (from both mainline and
3.0 branch), so that we can work towards getting rid of the old install
manual? If any parts of the VMS install instructions are still relevant,
could they be moved to the new install manual install.texi? All
installation instructions still in the old manual are an obstacle to
moving to separate user and internals manuals (and so to better
documentation of the front-end interface, which would fit better in an
internals manual trying to be just that rather than the present
accumulation of chapters on random internals topics tacked onto the end of
a reasonably structured user manual); the logical structure of separate
user, installation and internals manuals has no place for bits of
installation instructions in the user manual.
