gcc-3.0.2: i686: builds; i586: fails

Hi,

YFYI: gcc-3.0.2 builds on i686, SuSE-6.2, glibc-2.1.1, ...,

but fails on my i586 system (SuSE-6.1, glibc-2.0.7, binutils 2.9.1)
with the following error:

Last successfull build on this system was gcc-2.95.3 (i.e. gcc-3.0 also
fails).

I check on on i686 SuSE-6.1 system to see, if this error might be
specific for my i586 system (which is "reanimated" by hand after
serious disk corruption)

Cheers,

Peter Schorsch
