Tim,

Thanks for your reply. But where do I get 3.1 snapshots? The snapshot page
on gcc.gnu.org points to sites with source and binary distribs of 3.0
somethings, plus 2001 somethings, which seem also to be 3.0. Sorry for my
ignorance...
