Andrew is talking about the sh-unknown-linux-gnu configuration triplet
used to build GCC. Ideally, we should be able to build all of GCC and
glibc with the same triplet and have everything work just fine. This
is not the case right now, at least not with GCC as in the GCC CVS
repository.
