Sir/Madam:
I recently downloaded the GCC 3.0 binary from sunfreeware.com. I found that
the -m64 option didn't work. I inquired from sunfreeware.com whether they
just didn't configure their package for 64 bit operation, or whether GCC 3.0
didn't have 64 bit capability. Sunfreeware.com replied that it wasn't clear
whether GCC 3.0 supported the production of 64 bit code. The documentation
would appear to say that it is supported (with the -m64 command line
option).
Can you please clarify whether GCC 3.0 can produce 64 bit code (on Sun
sparcv9 architecture)? I understand that I may have to configure and
compile my own GCC executable.
Thank you for your valuable time.
