A useful note from Mark. Reading some contributions here makes me feel
like sharing a rule I have always followed. Be prepared to argue your
point of view energetically, but avoiding personal attacks, and if you
cannot convince others, then either your arguments are defective or
you are wrong. In a forum like this, the third possibiltiy
("I know best, and everyone else is an idiot") is definitely not a
possible conclusion :-)

(if people know me they know that I am certainly prepared to argue my
position energetically, since I feel that energetic technical debate
is a useful path to understanding issues better, but I will never end
up as the 1 in an N-1 vote :-)
