Well, the options I added (see above) should only have effects on
optimization and the insertion
of debugging data, so apart from that, a simple 'make bootstrap' should
produce the same results.
But as far as I can remember, I also read something about problems
concerning gcc in combination with Tru64 V5.0 in
the release notes of Tru64 v5.1. Im running v5.1 with the newest patch
kit installed, so
maybe you should upgrade to 5.1 as well, if that's possible...
