Believe me, don't get rid of it. Use 3.0 under /usr/local and use your linux
nickname use it 3.0 from the user, and 2.96 under administrater.

Subject: GCC Version question
I received gcc version 2.96 with my Redhat 7.0 installation.
Should I upgrade to the newest
version of gcc 3.0 - ie - am I going to get into trouble using the
version 2.96?
