We always assumed that there would be bugs, and of course there will be
a 3.0.1. It will not be one or two days after 3.0 though (unless there
is a packaging problem).
We already know of one group of critical bugs: 3.0 won't bootstrap on
several embedded platforms. These platforms weren't in our release
criteria, but we still need to fix that.
Also, HJ, you may have a different interpretation of the word "critical"
than others. My view: a critical bug is one that can't be worked around,
leaving the software unusable for some classes of users. Failing to
bootstrap would qualify.
It won't make sense to put out a 3.0.1 that isn't rigorously tested,
so it won't suffice to whack in some patches and then immediately release
(unless we want the embarrassement of putting out 3.0.8).
