This is getting interesting.
I can produce a cp/spew.o if I do s/Os/O2 . Just like the other problem
with gcov.c.

I have produced with -save-temps and Os the following:
ls -l spew*
-rw-r--r--    1 gbsadler src        349734 May 25 13:54 spew.i
-rw-r--r--    1 gbsadler src         28140 May 25 13:54 spew.o
-rw-r--r--    1 gbsadler src         37557 May 25 13:54 spew.s

Now the spew.o was produced with O2 of course. I can make the same offer
for these temps as I do for the gcov temps. If anyone is interested, I
can gzip/bzip2 them and post to this list/gnats or arrange to make them
available on www.
