I am using a SCO OpenServer v5.0.6 .
With Skunkware I have Gcc v2.95.2 19991024.
I downloaded a MIME::BASE64 decoder and the compilation fell over with:-
"cc: unrecognized option '-w0'".
So I changed the Makefile and removed the option and all was well.
I now have a MIME::Base64 and a MIME::QuotedPrint now installed.
OK up till now.
By the way I am new to developing on UNIX but have been programing since
'78. 19 that is.
So I thought I would push the boat out and use 'perlcc' to see how things
hang together.
I got the same "-w0" error.
At this point I found the "Config.pm" file and thought I would do the same
and remove the "-w0".
But now perhaps I have something majorily wrong. It fell apart and will not
convert.
I have searched my Gcc man file for "-w0" but to no avail.
I did take backups of all files changed and I am back at the start.
If it is possible to donate any pointers my way it would help me join the
many.
Thankyou in anticipation of your time.
Steve
