ia64-linux kernel panics when running tests for recent GCC snapshots

When I run the tests for GCC 3.0 snapshot 20010320 or 20010326 on IA-64
Linux, the system panics. This seems to indicate a new bug in the
compiler and a bug in the kernel. I've tried this on two machines, both
running Red Hat distributions. The output of uname -a on these systems:

Linux elm3a83 2.4.0-0.43 #1 Mon Dec 4 18:49:24 EST 2000 ia64 unknown
Linux elm3a81 2.4.1-010131-8smp #1 SMP Wed Mar 7 13:04:24 PST 2001 ia64
unknown

I've since built and tested the 20010312 snapshot on both systems and
saw no problems.

Is the cause of this problem known? If not, is there some way that I
can help track it down? The failures don't occur at the same place in
the test suite.

Janis
