GCC 2.95.2 is a newer version of egcs 1.1.2 (which was also known as
gcc 2.91), so you will want to use it instead. GCC 2.95.2 generates
much better code and will compile anything egcs 1.1.2 does.
The easiest way to install it under Irix is to use your web browser and
go to
http://freeware.sgi.com/index-by-alpha.html
Click on the install icon for 2.95.2. This will install the gcc
binaries, which is all that you want anyhow.
If you insist on using egcs 1.1.2 it is also available on the same web
page.
Good Luck,
Kelley Cook
