The patch proposed by Alexander N. Kabaev <ak03@gte.com>
in http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2000-09/msg00132.html
has still not seen any attention, two weeks after it was posted.
I can confirm that it does bootstrap correctly on all kinds of OpenBSD
platforms (i386, m68k, sparc, pmax...) and does not lead to any regression
in a full system build.
Now, I would like someone who understands that code to review it and
finally decide whether it should be imported on the 2.95 branch or not.
As far as the OpenBSD project is concerned, we have merged that patch in
our tree, it will be in OpenBSD 2.8. I assume other projects that do track
gcc 2.95 have done the same.
Just as a reminder that gcc 3.0 is still a few months away, probably, and
that some of us have to live with the -stable release in-between...
