I don't think so. It's the third person I know that has this problem
(I'm one of those :-). The problem seems to occur whenever a tag or
date is specified for a check-out or update. For example,
`contrib/gcc_update -d -r gcc_latest_snapshot' failed for me precisely
as above on Monday, and I've just verified that it still happens a few
minutes ago. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to report it :-(

No references to any mpw file.
