How funny, building 2.95.2 with egcs 1.1.2 fails but not with itself

Hi everybody,

I apologize upfront if I am on the wrong list. Please correct me then.

Now my observation:

I use RH6.2 with latest binutils. Compiling 2.95.2 Release jumps at me
every time I try to compile this beast with a sig11. But every time somewhere
down in java at stage2.

Now I tried to do just a make then I installed it then make bootstraped
gcc 2.95.2 with itself and it went through every stage.

How can that possibly be ? I thought bootstrapping would compile first
time with local compiler and the second and third stage with itself.

Anybody explanations ?

Thanks in advance for any enlightenment.

Regards

Michael Meding
