hmm.
never thought i would make a post to a discussion about copyrights.
i am a __programmer ;)
First off, Sgi(sgi) is in a downturn right now;
and has been for quite some time.
If anything; they become more successful they are going to keep pushing open
source software just due to the fact because it is helping them out of there
current slump (prediction).
There current bus. model is relying heavily on open source products.
So far things are looking good.
They have partnered up with nvidia (technogly leader in the feild of 3d
video cards) and sgi is taking a new direction in there business model which
*might* be working.
Linux is *very* good with scalable processors, after about 4 cpu's on NT the
os's will bail out on you.
There is quite a bit of money to be made in the field or simulation systems
and image processing. more linux boxes running sgi hardware can scale good,
and will in return cut down on dev time.
my 2 cents.

btw-> "what if's" exsist in the minds of paranoid people. "What if" is not
reality.
"live today as if you where going to die tomorrow". short phrase, but it is
something _EVERYONE_ should live by.
night.
*could we please end this.
