Aren't the docs in texinfo format?
Postscript requires A4 and 8.5x11...
.dvi is somewhat easier...but with the availability of good
unix distributions like redhat ;-), you don't need to make
a TeX system yourself (a task I found daunting and not for the weak
of spirit).
