config.guess Failed

HI,

The program config.guess failed to identify the machine and os even
though "uname -a" gives the following

Linux galatea 2.2.5-15 #1 Mon Apr 19 23:00:46 EDT 1999 i686 unknown

Is there any quick fix to this ?
