Re: [Re: [Re: gcc-2.8.1 compiler problems]]

Martin,

Sorry to bother you again. It seems that gcc is not including tinfo.cc at
compilation. I searched through directories and found at gcc-2.8.1/cp/ three
files: tinfo.h, tinfo.cc and tinfo2.cc. As you already guessed, I'm not
(unfortunately) really skilled on using UNIX, and I'm learning by the hard
way. I'm kind of desperate at this point. How can I include this tinfo.cc file
and its header at compiling time? And why isn't it there already? I recompiled
gcc twice just today (and I don't know how many times before). I used nm(1) as
you told me to do, and put the output into a file. Then I searched through
that file, but there was no __rtti_user or __rtti_si matches into it, though
there were plenty of symbols, probably because it didn't compile the right
files altogether.

I'm using bison, binutils, GNU sed, all neatly installed by the HP-UX
swinstall from .depot files and referred by the PATH command. I deactivate
CCOPTS and LDOPTS settings as I'm supposed to do. I have the right patches
HP-UX 10.20 needs... What else?

You told me about version 2.95.1. Isn't it a beta version? And where can I
find it to make a download?

And again, as I'm not an expert on using UNIX, I don't know how to "hack". I
saw that tinfo.h has all those definitions already. Am I supposed to "force"
them at the command line?

Well, I'm really sorry for being such a nasty presence in your mail box, but
it seems I don't have much choices and you were most helpful. I'd appreciate
if you answer this one, at least by telling me which person I can contact to
solve this problem. Thank you again.

Yours,

Alejandro Kainer
