problem with egcs-1.1.2-24

Hi-
I am running RH v5.2 with glibc2.1. I installed the following rpm
packages:
egcs-1.1.2-24.i386.rpm
egcs-g77-1.1.2-24.i386.rpm
egcs-c++-1.1.2-24.i386.rpm
egcs-objc-1.1.2-24.i386.rpm
libstdc++-2.9.0-24.i386.rpm
binutils-2.9.1.0.23-6.i386.rpm
cpp-1.1.2-24.i386.rpm
When I run a C++ application that reads from a file using ifstream I get
a segmentation fault and the following message shows up in my debugger:
../../../libio/iostream.h:165: No such file or directory
I upgraded from egcs -1.0.3-14 (which I believe comes standard with RH
v5.2). I am stumped at this point and would appreciate any
insights/recommendations.
