Questions about cpp, cpplib, and precompiled headers

I have a few questions, ultimately about precompiled headers.
I looked through the egcs mailing list archives, and found some
mention this past May:
http://egcs.cygnus.com/ml/gcc/1999-05/msg00007.html
and its followups (messages 9, 11, & 12). And the Cygnus
announcement at
http://www.cygnus.com/news/corel.html
But the subject is not mentioned at the list of cpp-related
projects that still need to be done, at
http://egcs.cygnus.com/proj-cpplib.html
So... my questions are:
1. What is the status of the Corel-related work mentioned in
Cygnus' press release?
2. How close is cpplib to replacing the separate cpp?
3. Are these two efforts completely separate (other than both
being based on the existing, earlier cpp)?
4. What can we do to help?
Thanks,
