Good Evening,
When checking out the current tree, I found that gcc now supports a
new architecture, fr30. While this is certainly great news to users of
the fr30 processors, I found that I had no clue what the heck this is.
I'm not at all complaining, it is reasonable to get the code working
first, before answering the curiosity of the public :-) I also guess
there will be an announcement one of these days.
Anyway, trying to find out what fr30 is, I did a Web search. Is it
A) A fly reel from Van Star
(http://fishermansheadquarters.com/vanstaal_flyreels.html), or
B) A high-speed filling line
(http://www.ravn-nielsen.dk/english/FR30-50.html), or is it
C) A processor from the Fujitsu Risk line
(http://www.fmap.com.sg/products/mcu_fr30.htm)
(and yes, there is also Fiat car with that name :-)
While searching, I found that I had looked at the architectures and
operating systems supported by GCC a number of times, and found I only
knew a fraction by name.
Sooo ... Would there be interest in a paging providing links to vendor
documentation etc. for the supported systems? Some processors and
systems are from the pre-Web time, perhaps literature references would
be more appropriate for them.
I'd volunteer to start collecting such information. Of course, this
will only work if others are willing to add and correct these links.
Let me know what you think,
Martin
