Downloading GCC

For some reason the downloads I've gotten from your site at ftp.gnu.org, (for exapmle the GCC 2.95.1, gzip under Chill distr), have not gunzipped properly. Whenever I go to expand the files I'm told that there is only 1 file to expand and am prompted to give a file extension to it.

I'm using Winzip 7.0 and have gunzipped things properly in the past. Please tell me whether this problem is just me, and if so (if you know) how to correct this. Thanks.
