I'm not specifically unhappy about it as much as I am concerned. If
the required co-ordination with RMS is strictly due to the merger
activities then I understand and have no problem with it. If, however,
it is an indication of future things to come and describes what will
soon be business as usual then I'm willing to start taking bets on
when the next source tree split takes place and "Son of EGCS" comes
into being. The egcs project was successful, in large part, due to the
autonomy of the development group and the good sense of its main
personnel (like Jeff for instance). Had it not been for these efforts,
progress on the gcc compiler suite would have (or rather, did!) come
to a standstill I believe. The whole "Cathedral vs. Bazaar" thing
comes into play here in a big way. Otherwise, some one please tell me
what the heck was the benefit of becoming the "official gcc"
again?!?!?

Just a concern from some guy who doesn't know the inside story. Tell
me if I'm wrong.

	Ben Scherrey
