You were subscribed to one of the older lists which are being shut down
and were being moved to the newer lists.

Just as soon as I could get to a computer. I won't go into all the issues
at hand, but let's say I had zero desire to make this kind of change at
this point in time due to constraints in my own schedule.
However, getting the lists converted is the gating factor for getting gcc-2.95
out the door. So, well, here we are.

Our intention was not to make you deal with it. I have been basically offline
since early Sunday morning, and will be offline most of this week. But we
are going to move the old info-gcc folks to a more appropriate list
(gcc-announce). It may not happen tonight -- I'm about to fall asleep at my
laptop, but it will happen.
All I can ask is that you please be patient, we are going to fix this and
we are terribly sorry for the problems this has caused.
