Again, I don't want to get sucked into a flame war here.
We do contribute back all of our changes eventually. Sometimes this
doesn't happen immediately -- usually with things that are known to be
NetBSD-specific -- but that's because we're busy working on NetBSD,
not because we're being anti-social or something.
As a practical matter, we *can't* take the approach of sending in
patches and waiting for them to appear in a new egcs release, because
that would introduce a highly variable delay (approximately 1-6
months) that doesn't match our own development cycle. This more or
less necessitates having our own, modified source tree. (I'm not
`blaming' anyone for this; it's just a fact of life.)
