   If it's the problem I think it is then it's unlikely we'll have a
   general solution in time for egcs-1.2.

And if so, the solution is just to mark %l7 as fixed on Sparc when PIC
is enabled just like was done in egcs-1.1.x But this won't solve the
other issue I mention with float constants.
