Actually, RHL 5.2 comes with both FSF's gcc version 2.7.2.x and egcs' gcc version egcs-2.90.29 980515 (egcs-1.0.3 release) and it has egcs' ``gcc'' installed as ``egcs''. Now that you've compiled your own experimental gnu compiler suite with prefix /usr/local and installed it accordingly in /usr/local, you've got egcs' gcc as /usr/local/bin/gcc, nice ain't it?
