The filters (at least RBL MAPS and ORBS, that is) are based on the IP
address of the server sending the mail.
Now, if instead of
LISTED SERVER --> egcs [secured]
you have
LISTED SERVER --> cygnus.com [unsecured, but not listed] --> egcs
the blocks on the egcs machine won't help.
